Living in Colour

At Edelman, what we do at the office is only half the story.  “Living in Colour” is the other half.

This program, an integral part of the Edelman culture, inspires our employees to be curious about the world around them; to explore the world outside work; to immerse themselves in the arts, culture, politics, literature, charitable organisations, or wherever else their passions and interests may take them.  By becoming well-rounded and better informed citizens of the larger world, we bring deeper understanding and context – the full spectrum of colours – to the worlds of our clients.

Edelman Sydney has an alignment with two locally based organisation, Barnardos and Learning Links.

Barnardos is Australia's leading children's charity, providing services which successfully help prevent and reverse the effects of abuse, neglect and homelessness on children and young people. Edelman is working with Barnardos on a range of activities, including providing support for Barnardos’ annual fundraising and awareness campaign, running a mentoring program to assist staff at suburban and regional centres in conducting local media campaigns, and working with senior executive to promote the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. Edelman will also be supporting the Star of Wonder Christmas appeal, encouraging staff and clients to collect presents for underprivileged children.

Learning Links is an Australian charity, supporting children with learning difficulties, disabilities and developmental delays. Learning Links works in partnership with families to provide a complete education and specialist care service. Services bring together teachers, psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and family counsellors to work towards each individual child’s goal in a multi-disciplinary approach. Edelman has formulated a strategy to assist the charity boost corporate funding, and brand profile through a number of stakeholder and consumer initiatives. The Corporate team engages with new and existing organisations in an attempt to leverage funding for the program whereas the Consumer team is collating a series of children's stories in the form of a coffee table book – and launching with a book signing from the kids.

Edelman provides pro-bono support by way of network liaison and engagement, media relations and intellectual property and research to Models of Success & Sustainability (MOSS) - Australia's newly established industry body for individuals, corporations, governments and not-for-profit organisations interested in Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Sustainability.

Seeded as an initiative from Australia’s Inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility Summit in 2005, MOSS was developed in consultation with key Australian stakeholders to foster responsible business. It provides practical education, know how, world best practice and thought leadership on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and encourages companies to incorporate sustainability into everyday management practices that will improve Australian business and community, and reduce their impact on the environment. It also helps business deliver measurable ‘triple bottom line' benefits with the aim of positioning Australian business as a global leader in the crucial arena of CSR.
